WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
You'll drive the evolution of our data platform and play a key role in modernizing our data landscape, while being hands-on.
In this role, you will lead the technical direction of our Snowflake adoption and migration initiatives, establish engineering standards and best practices, and act as a trusted technical mentor for the data engineering team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead the migration of our data platform and workloads to Snowflake
Define and establish architectural blueprints, technical standards, and best practices for our data platform
Drive the adoption of dbt, establishing best practices for data modeling, testing, documentation, CI/CD, and code quality
Act as a technical mentor to our data engineers, growing the team’s capabilities in Snowflake, dbt, and modern data engineering
Serve as the go-to expert for complex data architecture and engineering challenges
Collaborate with data, infrastructure, and business teams to design scalable and maintainable solutions
Contribute to the modernization of our data ingestion and transformation pipelines
Support the development of cloud-native data platform capabilities
Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to our data platform
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, including platform implementation, migration projects, data modeling, performance optimization, and best practices
Deep expertise in dbt, including data modeling, testing, documentation, CI/CD integration, and establishing engineering standards
Experience working with cloud platforms, with AWS experience considered an advantage
Strong understanding of modern data platform architectures, data warehousing, and data lake concepts
Experience designing scalable, reliable, and maintainable data solutions
Ability to define technical direction and create reusable architectural patterns and blueprints
Previous experience mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence within a team
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
A proactive and hands-on approach to solving technical challenges
