At LHV, we’re building a credit risk function that matches the pace and ambition of a rapidly growing bank. We’re looking for a Head of Credit Risk Control to lead the bank’s second line credit risk control function and shape how we govern, monitor, and challenge our most significant risk.
This is a senior leadership role with real influence — from defining risk appetite and strengthening frameworks to guiding modelling, IFRS 9 outcomes, and regulatory engagement. You’ll work closely with our separate Credit Management team while providing independent oversight and challenge at the highest level.
If you’re motivated by building, improving, and having a visible impact on how a bank manages credit risk, this role offers both scope and ownership.
Lead and develop the Credit Risk Control function, including its people, processes, and capabilities.
Own credit risk policies and the overall credit risk control framework.
Oversee credit-related RAF metrics, limits, monitoring, and governance.
Monitor portfolio developments, concentrations, and early warning signals, and provide independent challenge and oversight.
Own credit risk models, including methodology development, maintenance and monitoring.
Lead the IFRS 9 / ECL framework, including methodology, engine development, and calculation governance.
Design and maintain 2LOD credit controls.
Contribute to stress testing and scenario analysis from a credit risk perspective.
Act as a key contact for regulators and support regulatory interactions.
Strong experience in credit risk within banking.
Deep understanding of credit risk drivers and how they translate into risk appetite, monitoring, and decision-making.
Strong risk mindset and ability to provide independent challenge.
Good understanding of banking regulation and regulatory expectations related to credit risk.
Clear communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders.
Sound judgment and a pragmatic, risk-based approach.
Experience leading teams.
A real impact as you will shape how the bank manages its most material risk.
An opportunity to contribute to a bank that is scaling with clear ambition.
Opportunities for professional growth through internal and external training.
A modern culture that is collaborative, low-bureaucracy, and focused on outcomes.
A supportive and experienced team that values both impact and learning.
There is more to our offerings than meets the eye, and you will discover more benefits once you have decided to apply.
